Cicos Systems provides hardware solutions for networks. Cisco IOS software provides network applications. they also desing implement and maintain networks for three major target markets.
The first target market they serve is Large companies. Usually these large companies cover distance as well as different types of computers. the Enterprise market is mostly comprised of larger corporations, governments, and schools.
The second target market is the service providers. They serve all types of service providers. from ISP'S to utilities, and cable companies.
The third target market is the commercial sector. included in this group is any company that has a need for data networks as well as internet connections

AT&T (SERVICE)
AT&T's beginnings date back to 1875 when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. AT&T was the parent company of the American Telephone Monopoly. In 1984 the US D.O.J. broke AT&T into eight companies. Once AT&T was known as the long distance voice company. Now AT&T is a company that can handle any distance voice, data, and video communications
Although AT&T has a rich history dating back to the begginings of the phone itself I think My time here would be best spent on the time since divesture (1984).
on Jan, 1st, 1984, AT&T was officially broke up into eight robc's. of their 150 billion in assets they were allowed to keep 34 billion. what was once a company of over a million employees now had less than 400,000. this will be most difficult challeng for AT&T.

Sun Microsystems(SOFTWARE)
Sun systems or Systems Union was founded in 1981.
Sun provides fast growing organizations buisiness management software specialized to provide multinational companies with Global support.
Sun has partnerships with Microsoft, Oracle, and IBM. They have 20 offices worldwide. there are 20,000 customer sites worldwide. Sun systems is available in 27 languages.
The most intriguing thing about Sun Systems to me is the fact that their software allows multinational companies to consolidate thier currencies. This is good for a company that wants to do their financials in one currency.
